Realism with an expressionist’s palette is the best way to describe my paintings.  I am a third generation Texas painter and I love using bold and energetic colors that seem to leap off the canvas.  I paint primarily organic subjects and have a passion for seeing and capturing the amazing colors of nature.

Guided by a mother and grandmother, both lifetime painters, I started my artistic life with childhood lessons from renowned local artist, Simon Michael of Rockport.  My early passion was realism. I took a 20 year hiatus from art for my career in chemical engineering. I have been back with my art for 10 years.

I am currently drawn more to expressionism.  The experimentation with color and form are my guides to the creation of new work and Georgia O’Keefe is one of my influences.

I live and work south Austin, having moved back to Texas in 2001. In addition to my studio time, I paint regularly with the prolific Bunkhouse Gang in Cypress Mill.
