Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Nancy has lived in various regions of the U.S. and now resides in the Hill County of Texas where the natural beauty of the area informs her work.
Nancy has a BFA in Visual Art from Auburn University and a teaching certificate from Birmingham-Southern College. She was an art educator for 11 years while living in Alabama. She has done private and public commissions and now devotes herself to full time artwork and supporting and advancing the arts in her community.
Nancy’s work is a combination of playful exploration with materials, a connection to natural elements with an emphasis on color. Her intention is to push the boundaries of traditional abstract expressionism by using unique objects, traditional techniques, and multimedia. She doesn’t claim a “style” but allows the exploration to lead her into new directions, shifting, defining, and editing as the process develops.
