James Barta is a retired college administrator of Brazosport College in Lake Jackson, Texas. He began his hand-thrown pottery 25 years ago. He is known for the simple sophistication of his glazes and the fluid design of his pottery. James has been a professional photographer for 20 years but has had an interest in photography for three decades. His photography often reflects unique architectural structures and movement in nature.
James is an active member of Wimberley Valley Art League and New Braunfels Art League. His work is also available at Bent Tree Gallery in Wimberley. He resides in Wimberlely with his wife, local artist, Rosemary Barta.
